406 Accounting, LLC is a Belgrade, Montana-based bookkeeping and virtual assistant firm specializing in bookkeeping for small businesses and individuals.
Hello! I'm RaLea Harbrige, the owner of 406 Accounting, LLC. I grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch along the Hi-Line of north-central Montana before graduating from Chinook High School. While living in the north country, I was active in 4-H and FFA - raising black Angus and Charolais cattle for breeding show and market, Rambouillet sheep for breeding in addition to mixed breed market show lambs, and Nubian, Toggenburg, and Saanen dairy goats.
I attended Montana State University - Bozeman on one of the limited MSU Honor's Program Presidential Scholarships. While attending MSU, I was a student member of the Montana Society of CPAs, as well as a member of the Accounting Club and Beta Alpha Psi, a national accounting organization.
For two years I volunteered to prepare income taxes for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistant (VITA) program, before traveling to Kodiak Island, Alaska, for a week to prepare taxes for the Alaska Business Development Center Volunteer Tax and Loan Program. I ultimately received a Bachelor's of Science degree, accounting option, and a Master's of Professional Accountancy. Shortly after graduation, I took and passed the four sections of the uniform CPA exam.
As a student, I worked at the MSU Information Technology Center. After graduation, I began working full time as an accounting analyst in the same department. After two years, I moved to the MSU Center for Biofilm Engineering, where I spent another two years. While at MSU, I worked on customer sales orders and invoicing, accounts payable, payment coding, monthly reconciliations, budgeting, grant administration, travel, and different university funding sources. I have experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Oracle's Banner software, and the MSU-developed accounting software AgBooks/CatBooks.
I am a licensed Certified Public Bookkeeper, with certifications in QuickBooks and payroll.
I now live outside Belgrade, with my wonderful husband, Cody, our daughters Adalyn & Rowan, our dog “herd” (Piper, Kinley, & Timber), and an elusive cat.
I also write about small business/family finance at Balanced FI and help other special needs families through the nonprofit Orchid Club.
